Lindy's Point is actually part of Blackwater Falls and can be accessed near the beginning of the Canaan Loop Road. It makes a pleasant, short hike on days where you dont' feel like going too far from the car. There is now a wooden observation deck at the end of the trail. ![]() Blackwater SentryThe lone stone tower stands guard over the embattled Blackwater River Canyon. These canyon walls are slated for cutting. The view from this location is one of the prettiest that is available with only a short, easy hike. |
![]() Gentle TrailThe hike to Lindy's Point takes about ten minutes from the parking lot. Most of the trail is gentle, but there is a gentle downhill slope from the parking lot. It is probably not in good enough condition for a wheel chair, but it would be fine for those of us who are less spry. |
![]() Blackwater RiverAfter a rain, the Blackwater River rushes along the canyon. This year (2003) has seen the Blackwater almost constantly at flood stages.. Add Your Comments (0)
