Dolly Sods Map

There are several good sources for maps and trail information about Dolly Sods. The map below is taken from assembling several 7.5 miute series Geologic Survey maps. The three maps are:

• Hopeville: Southeast area.
• Blackbird Knob: Northern area
• Laneville: Southwest area

Note: Although the American Dicovery Trail map for the area seems to have good coverage, I have found it to be very inaccurate.

The best trail guide for the area is Monongahela National Forest Hiking Guide by Allen de Hart and Bruce Sundquist. You can find it at the West Virginia Highland Conservancy and many outdoor stores in the metropolitan areas surrounding West Virginia.
