Green, Green, Green
The Big Springs Gap Trail (TR154)is an easy way to access the Otter Creek Valley without having to hike the less scenic northern portion of the trail. Big Springs Gap Trail is approximately 1 mile and drops a few hundred feet to the creek. When you reach the bottom, you will have to cross Otter Creek to get to the trail. Don't take this step for granted because Otter Creek can be deep and treacherous after rains.

 Big Springs Gap Trail
The trail iteslf is fairly easy. It can have some muddy spots and after a hard rain, some of the trail becomes a beautiful stream. In the summer, it is rater buggy and the brush is thick, verdant green. I was happy to be wearing pants the last time I hiked this trail. |
 Clearstory of the forest
There are numerous beautiful views across the shallow ravine that makes up Big Springs Gap. The trees tower in straight, majestic spires to a canopy that keeps the area shaded and (in summer) humid.
