Otter Creek

Otter Creek follows a narrow canyon until it empties into the Dry Fork of the Cheat River. When you first walk into the creek from the northern (downstream) end, the stream looks like an ordinary rocky stream with relatively low water flow. As you head up-stream, the stream serenades you into a feeling of complete isolation. The ferns begin to become more prevalent. The waterfalls (even the small ones) become a source of constant pleasure.

Just got back from Otter Creek. First time I'd been in several years. Last time I was there shelters were still up. This was the first time I'd gone with 2 cars and could go the length of the trail. The whole place was beautiful.
