Upper Seneca Creek

Placid Trail Along Seneca Creek

The upper portions of Seneca Creek flow down a narrow valley with red spruce and hemlock blanketing the hillsides. Periodic meadows open up the view and present places for wildflowers marshes.

Crossing one of the Many Small Creeks

The trail makes several crossings between Judy Springs and the parking area at FR112. There is only one crossing that required taking off your boots, and that one was a hort distance from Judy Springs.

Picking Flowers Along the Trail

"You are collecting WHAT for WHO?".

"They are for my girlfriend. She has been pining for my love for all these long days that we have traveled over these mountains and through these valleys."

    "Now I've seen everything!"

This Must be the Work of Beavers

Along the trail is a very new beaver dam. These trees still had green branches on them, so we figured they couldn't have been fallen too long before our visit. It is amazing how thick some of these trees were. These were about 10" in diameter.

A Brand New Beaver Dam

With all the rain, this new dam has made a new pond and will soon kill all of the trees sitting in the water.
