Stars and Fireflies at Olson TowerPosted by Marc on June 12, 2011.

This nighttime panoramic looks rough to me, but I like the stars and the repeating orange fireflies. This panoramic is made up of six images shot at a 30 second exposure. Blah, blah, technical, blah blah. The foreground illumination is provided by the moon—or was it the dim illumination coming from car's nearby dome light—I'm sticking with the moon. Technical blah, blah, blah. This image is experimental. It is playful. It is the luxury of an open-ended summer night with friends when the fireflies are flickering, and the coyotes sing. We climbed the tower and took some shots from the top. The strong breeze was moving the tower so much that long exposures were impossible. I have a hundred black, fuzzy, worthless frames from the evening, but this one is okay with me. Add Your Comments (0) |
